If you haven’t visited VCS recently you will be surprised at the changes that have been made inside. We have significantly expanded our range of products and services. There have been improvements in so many areas that it is hard to list everything. For timber floors in Perth, we felt that more services were needed.
One of the most significant things that you may pick up on is the fact that we now hire out professional floor sanding equipment and that these are supported with a workshop area. If you are not entirely sure what to do or how to use the machines, we are now able to help you and show you how things work. This has been a major help to people looking to do maintenance. For timber floors in Perth, we saw the need to offer three levels of support.
One of the surprises however has been the range of products that we have been offering. We have gone beyond the standard professional hire equipment for floor sanding and included the smaller bona edger which is a much more agile and versatile machine than the standard edger for the simple reason that it is more compact and uses the 150 mm diameter disc.
We have also introduced bona DCS 50 which is a more compact dust extraction machine and much more easy to transport than its larger brother the DCS 70. This machine is very well-designed and we were very pleased to be able to offer this machine to support the sanding work. It comes with the full range of accessories that make it versatile for use for dust extraction. For timber floors in Perth this is a beautiful dust extractor and has many benefits.

We also decided to include scrubbing machines as many floors just require a scrub coat as opposed to a standard cutback when it comes to maintenance. This of course is dependent on the original coating being intact.
There are two different approaches to scrubbing and these are either using a rotary brush or a brush that runs in line with the flooring. Both machines are available at VCS. Timber floors in Perth do not always need to be sanded.

Using the white brushes in the bona scrubber you can really get the dirt out of a floor that has been used extensively and is now looking grubby. In addition to this if you need to use a smaller machine, we have battery-operated scrubbers that are compact which allow you to do a good-sized home on a single charge. This is good for avoiding having cables running everywhere. Both of the scrubbing machines incorporate extraction to ensure that the floor is not left with excess moisture on the surface during the process.
After careful consideration we also decided to incorporate the bona flexisand. We are aware of a number of different rotary machines on the market but after careful evaluation we feel that the flexisand is the more versatile of the machines available and we currently have one ready for hire and three more coming in later this year. The flexisand machine allows for much easier sanding in several different situations. If you’re not familiar with that machine please come in and talk to us about it as you make find that the process of sanding can be simplified. If you’re not familiar with this style of machine you may be expecting more work than you need.
In addition we are also happy to say that we have both 8 inch and 10 inch belt sanders as well as all of the appropriate abrasives to support these machines and we have the standard rotary polishing sander that we have been using for many decades in Australia. Again we had several choices to make that we chose the more reliable Polivac machines and we went for the lower speed machines recognizing that in the current market we are moving away from old-fashioned solvent based polyurethane, much of which is no longer being manufactured anyway, into waterborne and oil finishes where we do not need high-speed machines. In fact high-speed machines slow down the job if you become familiar with how to use a low speed.
