Engineered timber floors come in a wide range of options. We are now very pleased to offer a remarkable range of engineered floors with a full range of thicknesses to the face timber. This is extremely important. The so-called ‘wear layer’ is the face timber on the engineered floor. If a floor needs to be re-sanded then this is the material that is sanded. We offer a range of engineered floors with a wear layer up to 6 mm thick in an engineered stable profile ideal for use in timber flooring. The floors can be used in very heavy commercial settings through to family homes and beyond. This is an ideal range of flooring and is now available in a number of different colours and finishes.

The most widely used timber flooring in the world is oak. It has been said that oak flooring accounts for 50% of the timber flooring used worldwide. It is a hard wearing floor and ideally suited for use in domestic and commercial areas. Many people are surprised to know just how durable oak flooring is. It is an outstanding timber flooring choice and is extremely stable and serviceable in Australian conditions. Indeed, oak is often praised for its stability in temperature variable and humidity variable locations. It’s a top performer. Additionally oak can be stained or coloured to suit individual styles. At VCS we stock a range of Osmo tints which allow for the easy colouring of a timber floor surface and there are a number of contractors in Perth that are becoming proficient at using tints and colours effectively.

We are delighted to have several hundred choices available and in addition we can now offer a number of party options in large engineered pieces which can allow for some pretty amazing patterns to be installed. Chevron   parquet flooring is an outstanding looking floor and we can offer this in a range of colours pre-tinted or in raw boards ready for your colouring or for finishing in an oil or urethane finish. We are also able to offer parquet flooring in herringbone with a 6 mm face layer of oak.

Engineered flooring is available in Australian timbers as well and again we offer a comparable thickness of face timber which means that the floors have a good longevity built in. Engineered flooring has come a long way in the last few years and can now be offered in longer and wider boards than was originally conceived when we looked at the material back in the early 2000’s.

We certainly encourage you to come and have a look at the extensive range of engineered floors here at VCS.
