One of the machines that is essential in hire is the rotary sander. Sometimes called a polisher, in reality, rotary sanders are much more powerful than polishers because they have to work a sanding pad for both finishing timber floors and also sanding between coats. Standard polishers simply couldn’t do the job, hence purpose-made rotary sanders are the choice. Rotary sanders are designed to handle a variety of floor materials and deliver a much better finish.

One of our principal machines is the Polivac rotary sander. Polivacs are easy to control, easy to transport, and have just the right amount of weight without being too heavy. They also have a good dust control system on them so that there’s a bag that you can use to easily keep dust down. You don’t need to have a lot of dust left behind.
The Polivac sander is a floor sanding machine that has an international reputation. It’s an efficient and reliable floor sander. It is powered by a heavy-duty four-pole electric motor to offer excellent performance and satisfy the rigorous demands in floor sanding applications. The machine is fitted with a floating skirt which helps to trap dust and reduce the need for secondary vacuuming.

At VCS we recommend this machine for finishing sanding. So, if the floor has been sanded with a belt sander and an edger, it will need a finishing sanding, and this is where the Polivac comes in. Alternatively, it can also be used for sanding between coats. It is also part of a maintenance program. So for example, if you’ve got a floor that you are refinishing, the Polivac is the machine that you would use to lightly abrade the surface of the existing coating before applying a fresh coat of finish over the top.
