Bona prime intense is the ideal primer for use on Australian timbers such as blackbutt and other timbers that are rich in tannin. Another example from Europe would be French oak which is rich in tannin. While it can be used on other timbers it is generally provided with a view to taking care of timbers like Blackbutt and Tallowwood. We have had extensive experience with this product and it is a very reliable performer. It is important that this coating is put on heavily you should note the coating rate as shown below.

Bona Intense is also ideal for applications where a slightly deeper, richer, more golden appearance is desired to enhance the natural colour of the timber.
