Introducing Bona AntiSlip Additives

Bona anti-slip is designed to boost the slip resistance of your chosen Bona finish, increasing safety in areas with a higher risk of slips and falls caused by spillages, such as in commercial premises or kitchens, entrances and stairways.

All Bona products have good slip resistance, but anti-slip takes it to the next level. Previously, anti-slip properties designed for commercial areas were exclusive to products such as Bona Traffic Heavy Duty Anti-Slip and Bona Traffic Heavy Duty Raw, but with the introduction of Bona Anti-Slip Additive you can now extend this functionality to a wide range of existing finishes for both wood and resilient flooring, offering you greater flexibility with coatings that you may already use.

It reduces the slip risk for wood and resilient floors, and it is also suitable for recoating treatments as well.

Bona anti-slip should be added to the final coat of the lacquer used on the flooring. Bona anti-slip does affect the gloss level, resulting in a more matte appearance, so if you’re uncertain as to how this will look, it is good to test before full application. But basically any anti-slip additive is always going to reduce the gloss level a little, which may or may not be noticeable depending on the lighting situation.

Bona anti-slip is supplied in bottles that are 125 grams, and the idea is that you add one bottle of Bona anti-slip to one 5 litre container of Bona Finish. Finishes that it can be used with include the entire Bona Traffic Heavy Duty range, as well as Bona Traffic Go and Bona Wave. Generally, you would use the silk matte, the matte or extra matte finishes in each of these products. For more details, refer to the information sheets provided by VCS and by Bona Australia.
